Wolfville Nursing Homes Ltd. is a privately-owned Long Term Care facility in the town of Wolfville in Nova Scotia's beautiful Annapolis Valley, providing quality care to 66 residents.

Wolfville Nursing Homes Ltd. Is currently recruiting for the following position;
**Therapy Assistant**

As a Therapy Assistant at Wolfville Nursing Homes, you will play a vital role in assisting our residents in their journey towards improved physical and mental health. You will report to the Program Manager and will work alongside our Physical Therapist and Occupational Therapist Consultants.

**Responsibilities**:

- Assist licensed therapists in the implementation of individualized therapy plans for residents.
- Support residents during therapy sessions, ensuring their safety and comfort.
- Monitor and record residents' progress and report any changes to the therapy team.
- Encourage and motivate residents to actively participate in therapy exercises.
- Collaborate with the therapy team to adapt therapy plans as needed.
- Maintain equipment and therapy areas, ensuring they are clean and organized.
- Provide emotional support to residents during therapy sessions.
- Assist with administrative tasks related to therapy services, including scheduling and documentation.
- Follow proper policies and procedures.
- Management of equipment inventory and maintenance.

**Qualifications**:

- Therapy Assistant Diploma and/or Kinesiology Degree.
- Previous experience in a healthcare or therapy setting is a plus.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Compassionate and patient demeanor.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Basic computer skills for documentation purposes.
- Knowledge of Inventory maintenance.
- Knowledge of health care charting.
- Knowledge of body mechanics.
