**We are looking for a Heavy Equipment Operator in the civil construction industry**

Our objective is to work with key General Contractors in the local area and focus on creating long lasting relationships with all project stakeholders and employees.

**Responsibilities**:

- Operate the excavator and other heavy equipment in a safe and appropriate manner
- Perform daily maintenance and safety checks
- Conduct pre-operational checks on equipment, and clean, lubricate and refill equipment as necessary
- Work with ground personnel in the excavation and installation process of laying pipe on line and grade.
- Ensure trench is excavated to the proper depth/grade.
- Be aware of proper rigging of pipe, manhole barrels, etc. and ensure safe work procedures are followed during the lowering of materials into the excavation.

**Qualifications**:

- Possess a positive “can do” attitude
- Must be Class 5 licensed and can travel across the Lower Mainland to get to work site
- Must be local
- Ability to lift, handle and move 50lbs
- Team player, able to get along with a diverse group of people working towards a common goal
- Must have the ability and willingness to work in all types of adverse conditions such as extreme weather
- Be able to recognize safety issues
- Ability to work without close supervision once directed on task

**Job Type**: Full Time

8 hour shifts, Overtime pay

Extended Benefits

**Salary**: $28.00-$40.00 per hour
