**How to Apply**:
**General Purpose**:
Reporting to the Director, Operations & Public Service, the Circulation Coordinator will be responsible for supporting staff in the delivery of exceptional service system-wide, coordinating weekend contract and student paging staff, and assisting readers of all ages in the selection, organization, and interpretation of library materials. This position performs professional duties requiring adherence to standards of accuracy, timeliness, tact, and confidentiality. Work schedule includes evenings and weekends. Position may include travel between branches.

**Primary Responsibilities**:

- Provides input to the design, development, and evaluation of circulation services
- Supports the library’s operational goals by fostering staff development through mentorship and training
- Provides circulation service, reference, readers’ advisory, digital instruction, and customer service
- Coordinates contract and student page duties and training
- Applies procedures and policies related to library circulation systems and acts as staff resource for same
- Promotes library services and collections
- Maintains the collection and branch appearance in a satisfactory manner
- Maintains an awareness of current trends in library and related fields
- Other duties as assigned

**Knowledge**:

- Proven interpersonal and motivational skills
- Excellent customer service skills
- Knowledge of the principles and practices of professional library work
- In-depth knowledge of reference techniques including online resources
- A broad knowledge of adult and children’s literature and demonstrated readers’ advisory skills
- Strong knowledge of popular software and hardware including basic troubleshooting

**Education**:

- MLIS, MI, MLS from an accredited Library School, or equivalent is required

**Experience**:

- Minimum 1 year of experience in public libraries or related field
- Minimum 1 year of supervisory experience

**Skills**:
The incumbent must have an:

- Ability to communicate effectively both in written and verbal formats
- Ability to work in a changing, progressive environment
- Ability to perform manual tasks such as lifting, pushing, pulling, bending
- Ability to change processes and workflow based on customer demands and library vision
- Ability to set goals and monitor achievements
- Ability to time manage and multi-task in an open public environment

**Hours of work**:35 hours/week

**Salary Range**:$63,827 - $74, 675 (Job Grade 5 - Under Review)
