**Job Description**:
**AECOM **has an immediate need for a highly talented Tax Supervisor to support our Canadian Finance team. This position can be based in either Glen Allen, VA or Markham, ON.

**Canada Indirect Tax Supervisor**

The Canada Indirect Tax Supervisor will be responsible for the ongoing management, preparation and consolidation of indirect tax accounting across the Canadian businesses and oversee the Indirect Tax planning / Audit function with primary responsibility for indirect tax compliance obligations in Canada.

**Specific Responsibilities Include**:

- Ensure timely and accurate filing of indirect tax (GST/HST, QST and other provincial sales taxes, other transaction taxes) returns in various jurisdictions in Canada
- Ensure government reporting and remittances are compliant in accordance with local laws
- Monitor indirect tax legislation and its impact on the organization. Drive and implement changes required to indirect tax compliance processes as a result of changes to indirect tax legislation
- functional teams regarding activities at the international level with respect to Canadian projects
- Ensure all indirect tax accounts are reconciled and cleared every month, while ensuring the appropriate liabilities are settled to the respective jurisdictions
- Management of internal and external Canadian indirect tax audits ((GST/HST, QST and PST) ensuring they are executed in an efficient, effective, and timely manner
- Communicate with tax authorities regarding various tax correspondences (notice of assessment, statement of account, etc.)
- Respond to ad hoc tax related questions from other departments and as assigned
- Ensure adherence to workflows and procedures by working closely with the other AECOM corporate and indirect tax teams
- Understand the systems integrated in the business and ensure data flows are accurately captured in the systems and reconcile where necessary
- Collaborate with broad range of stakeholders both within and outside of AECOM to quickly solve indirect tax issues
- Prepare information and training documents related to indirect tax compliance and give internal training to business units when needed
- Manage GST elections along with ensuring registrations are filed timely

**Qualifications**:
**Minimum Requirements**:

- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Tax or demonstrated equivalent combination of education, skills, knowledge, abilities and experience
- Minimum 4 years of experience in the area of commodity/ indirect taxation; with specific experience in indirect tax audit management
- CPA/ CA/ CMI/ CTA or equivalent tax certification
- In-depth knowledge of Canadian indirect taxation (GST/HST, QST, PST and/or US indirect taxes)
