**Job Description**:
What You’ll Be Doing

You’ll be joining CIBC’s Capital Markets, OTC Derivatives Operations. Reporting to the Director, OTC Confirmations and Client Liaison Group of CIBC Capital Markets Operations, you will support the daily activity of OTC Confirmations across all derivative products: Equities, Interest Rates, Commodities, FX Options. You must independently resolve complex issues and/or disputes with clients and business partners in a professional manner, engaging support from various groups (Front Office, Legal, Technology, etc..) as appropriate. Partner engagement is routine and frequent. Consequently, it is critical that you can articulate (written and verbally) in clear, concise, and professional terms. You must understand numerous complex products, associated trade events and other related process flows. You may also be required to regularly train and provide advice to others, and participate in related project activities (requirements gathering, design feedback, and user acceptance testing).

How You’ll Succeed- Understanding and documenting OTC Derivatives - Strong knowledge across a broad spectrum of OTC derivatives transactions from a theoretical and practical viewpoint as well as the finance principles that underlie them. Familiarity with the structure of OTC derivatives definitions, standards and protocols, trade lifecycle events and related processes. You are aware of core regulation on the derivative markets, deadlines imposed by industry regulations in conforming transactions following specific and strict policies related, but not limited, to CFTC, EMIR, SEC SBSD.- Exceptional attention to details - Ensure that all trade attributes are confirmed, documents are delivered in a timely manner by specified SLAs without errors or any risk exposure. Regularly participate in research and analysis of discrepancies between internal records and counterparties’.- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel & Word - Experience with analytical techniques to synthesize and interpret large amounts of data from multiple sources. Advanced knowledge working with Word forms and Excel spreadsheets. Programming languages, such as VBA, creating macros to extract, map and populate forms in Microsoft Word is nice to have.- Strong focus on process improvement - Regularly identify, develop and implement operational process enhancements with the goal of improving efficiencies and synergies between internal and external partners. Adopt and share a mindset oriented to trust, open communication, creative thinking and cohesive team effort.
