Marden-Wild of Canada Limited (Marden-Wild) is seeking a Production Chemist, primarily responsible for the day-to-day chemical benchwork of the quality control lab, including quality control of incoming raw materials and finished manufactured products, and tracking data.

Interfacing with quality control, manufacturing, sales, and the product development group, the Production Chemist will learn and understand the art of manufacturing leather oils and how to troubleshoot problems.

**Qualifications and Skills**
- Bachelor of Science in Chemistry or related field, or 5+ years’ practical experience
- Working knowledge of OHS, supervisor skills
- Ability to work with suppliers to develop reliable and repeatable components
- Ability to present technical material in an understandable manner
- Proficiency of Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
- Self-motivated and goal oriented
- Must be a team player and possess good interpersonal skills
- Comply with all safety policies and procedures

**Responsibilities**:

- Work with suppliers, vendors, consultants, and customers to achieve product development goals
- Solve product design and formulations issues based on experimental testing results
- Collect, analyze, and process raw data using standard software and techniques; communicate results both verbally and in writing
- Document and help seek intellectual property protection on qualified new products
- Assist in planning, organizing, and conducting plant and supplier trials
- Understand, create, implement, and modify product and process specifications and procedures
- Communicate any issue related to project feasibility to direct supervisor
- Recommend process and material improvements to achieve superior results
- Maintain an electronic notebook detailing all data measured, observations, and steps performed
- Maintain laboratory safety standards
- Review production orders and process schedules to determine resources needed to meet orders and schedules
- Provide manufacturing information by sorting, initiating, compiling, and analyzing production performance data and records
- Take a leadership role in plant safety
- Establish an environment, influence behavior, and manage systems to help people believe zero injuries and incidents are possible
- Assure safety policies and regulatory guidelines are followed by all employees, at all times
- Oversee necessary training to all personnel and maintain all safety records and training records
- Ensure use of PPE, when required and proper use of equipment, i.e., forklifts
- Ensure equipment standards by evaluating new equipment; call for repair of old equipment
- Utilize MRP software for all manufacturing processes
