The Regina Open Door Society (RODS) is a non-profit organization that provides settlement and integration services to refugees and immigrants in Regina. RODS is committed to meeting the needs of newcomers by offering programs and services that enable them to achieve their goals and participate fully in the larger community.
We are located in the City of Regina on Treaty 4 land, which is recognized as the traditional territory of the nêhiyawak/Cree, Nahkawē/Saulteaux, Anihšināpēk, Dakota, Lakota, Nakoda, and the homeland of the Métis Nation.
The Regina Open Door Society Inc. is seeking qualified individual staff for the full-time term position of Youth Worker. The full-time term position is January 15 ,2025 to March 31,2025 with the possibility of extension.
The Youth Program assists newcomer youth to become familiar with their community and establish supportive social networks. The aim of the program is to help newcomer youth become thriving members of their community.
**Desired**qualifications/education**:
- Post-secondary education, preferably degree or diploma in the area of Social Sciences or Youth Development, Community Development, however previous work experience will be considered2 to 3 Years of experience working with at-risk youth
- Strong commitment to providing quality services working in an intercultural environment.

- Build a relationship with existing immigrant /refugee youth, families and their
- Provide workshops or work with other agencies to provide workshops on racism, bullying, conflict resolution, leadership, public speaking and others.
- Provide information and orientation to newcomer youth and their
- Creatively plan, organize and evaluate
- Prepare and submit program reports e., monthly/annual, financial, bulk uploads, meeting minutes etc.
- Learn about RODS and other programs, services and resources for youth and families for
- Provide referral to programs and services in the
- Match newcomer youth with
- Work in collaboration with community organizations to provide programs and services for newcomer youth.
- Organizes and delivers Youth Summer and after school Programs
- Organizes and deliver youth leadership and bridging programs
- Promotes and markets youth programming through community partners such as SWIS Workers (Settlement Workers in Schools), EAL teachers, and other community agencies working with youth and young adults.

- Solid paraprofessional counselling and group facilitation skills. Familiar with the casework process, including intake procedures, needs assessment, goal planning, referrals, case management, documentation and follow-ups.
- Understanding of Canada and Saskatchewan Privacy Policies and education system
- Strong time-management and organizational skills are essential

Hours of work: Monday to Friday 8:15 AM to 4:00 PM. This position will be required to work evenings and weekends to facilitate program activities. All positions at RODS require a clean criminal check. There is a cost-shared benefits package and a 3% employer contribution to the
Saskatchewan Pension Plan available to the employee with successful completion of a six-month probationary period. The annual salary for this position is $ 42,379.85 ($24.16 per hour).
