We are currently looking for a motivated, self-directed individual to work one day per week (Mondays) in Comox
We deliver cooler bags of fresh, prepped ingredients directly to our customers’ homes. Starting from our warehouse on Ryan Rd in Comox, you will unload our delivery routes shipped from Vancouver, assist other drivers in finding their deliveries, onboard new drivers, and then take a pre-planned delivery route yourself. Support is provided on shift by our dispatch team. We can have you working with us as soon as this Monday
This is an Independent Contractor position that requires the use of your own vehicle and your own smartphone. Due to connectivity issues in the Comox area, we recommend only individuals with a major carrier (Rogers, Telus, Fido) or who are very comfortable driving in the area apply. Compensation is paid every week through direct deposit. Shifts are usually 6 - 8 hours in length.

**You can expect to work**:

- Mondays 9am - 10:30am in the warehouse
- Mondays 10:30am - 3pm delivering
- Mondays 3pm - 4pm ensuring everything is put away at the warehouse
- Occasionally your shifts may be extended due to inclement weather or if another driver cannot complete their route. You would be responsible for ensuring all deliveries are completed and any issues are communicated with the dispatch team, who work from Victoria and Vancouver.

Delivering for Fresh Prep is an excellent opportunity to earn an average of $30-$40/hr, based on a combination of payment per delivery, per kilometre, and per reusable bag picked up and returned. The warehouse work will be paid at an hourly rate. Although previous experience is not necessary, we do encourage applicants that have worked with other on-demand delivery companies such as Skipthedishes, Uber Eats, and Amazon to apply.
Your earning potential is higher if you drive a larger vehicle (allowing you to take more deliveries) and/or an energy efficient vehicle (allowing you to pay less for fuel).

**Requirements**:

- Valid driver’s license with a clean driver’s abstract
- A vehicle with valid insurance
- A smartphone with a data plan
- Ability to lift up to 30 lbs
- Ability to pass a background check
- Must be legally authorized to work in Canada
- A positive, friendly attitude

**Knowledge, skills, and abilities**:

- Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment
- Work well under pressure and tight deadlines
- Must be able to work and problem solve independently
- Must be able to drive on the road for 4-6 hours
- Ability to work independently

**Job Duties**:

- Organize and load orders in own vehicle
- Deliver orders in a timely fashion
- Return collected cooler bags and undelivered orders to the warehouse
