In-house Trainer

Essential Coil Well Service, a division of Element Technical Services, is now recruiting for an In-House Trainer based in our Red Deer location with occasional travel to Grande Prairie. The Trainer role is responsible for a combination of, providing a variety of In-house Training and for supporting the health, safety and environmental programs for ECWS’s Red Deer facility. This role’s main obligations will be training Employees while back filling with monitoring basic compliance at our facilities.
Reporting into the Manager, HSE, this role balances the need for regulatory and company policy compliance with a coach and facilitator approach that is supportive of our safety and organizational culture.
**Duties/Responsibilities**:
Core duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Instruct multiple in-house training programs including but not limited to Forklift, Overhead Crane, Arial Lift, Fall Protection, Oilfield Driver Awareness.
- Conduct equipment and operator compliance audits, document findings, and implement corrective actions.
- Perform facility worksite analysis, determine employee risk exposures, behaviours, and institute control measures to reduce identified risks and correct unsafe behaviours. Mostly focused on equipment (Forklift, overhead crane, arial lift, etc.);
- Implement preventive measures and recommend improvement on any unsafe conditions/material/equipment. Mostly focused on equipment (Forklift, overhead crane, arial lift, etc.);
- Plan and execute the site safety function requirements;
- Participate in worksite safety meetings/hazard assessments; and
- Provide support to Operations to ensure we are prepared to go to work from an HSE standpoint.
**Qualifications**:
- Training experience in adult classroom settings, Energy Safety Canada approved trainer is an asset.
- 3-5 years of experience related to the oil and gas services industry.
- A degree of personal scheduling flexibility is required.
- Dedication and commitment to safety excellence and impeccable safety record are required.
- Valid class 5 Driver's license and clean drivers abstract are required.
