**Edmonton Integrated Services Ltd**, or better known as **EIS**, is seeking to sub-contract an extraordinary person with a **background in adult developmental disability support services** in the role of a **Supportive Living Roommate **(or _Support Home Operator/SHO_).

**As a Supportive Living Roommate, you will receive a flat monthly payment for boarding an Individual within your own residence, and providing a safe living environment while assisting with the Individuals daily living needs to thrive at home and in the community.**

The Supportive Roommate provides the necessary developmental support and assistance on a more of a “friend” or “roommate” basis. Support is intended to assist the Individual in learning skills to allow them as much independence and community inclusion as possible, while providing for their safety, security, and inclusion in their daily living.

**About the Supportive Living Program**:_Our Agency has _**over 70 Individuals accessing services through this program**_ _that provides alternatives to a traditional group home. The Supportive Living Program focuses on providing Individuals with a live-in environment which supports their development and growth within a home atmosphere. For the most part, the Supports are provided by Agency sub-contractors. Individuals are provided with a place to live within a supportive roommate’s home and provided the necessary care, attention, and support for the Individual to thrive at home and in the community._

**Responsibilities**:

- Provide care and support both within your home and in the community for an adult with developmental disabilities, including providing behavioral and mental health support.
- Accompany the individual to appointments, meetings, or activities during the day.
- Actively participate as a member of the individual's support team.
- Ensure the individual's active involvement in community activities and facilitate their integration into your household.
- Maintain thorough documentation as required.

**Requirements**:

- Must reside within Edmonton, AB, and be able to provide suitable living conditions/arrangements to for an adult individual with developmental disabilities.
- Demonstrated experience working directly with adults with developmental disabilities, specifically those with mental and emotional health needs.
- Current Police Criminal Record Clearance and Vulnerable Persons Sector Check
- Must have the ability and willingness to share their own residence with an individual to provide safe, secure lodging with an inclusive, caring, and supportive friend/roommate experience.
- Relevant education/training certifications, including First Aid, and Abuse Protocol strongly preferred.
- Reliable, well-maintained personal vehicle and valid driver’s License with liability Insurance coverage of two million.
- Ability and willingness to obtain commercial liability insurance.
