Civil Project Manager

To support operational growth, FB Bullet is recruiting a Project Manager to support our Surrey BC Division on a variety of projects throughout the Lower Mainland.
Reporting to the Regional Manager, and working daily with Leadership and Construction Management, the Project Manager will oversee all aspects of a project from start to completion. This will involve monitoring project plans, schedules, work hours, budgets, and expenditures, organizing and participating in stakeholder meetings, and ensuring that project meets or exceeds clients' expectations.
**Responsibilities**:
The responsibilities of this role include but are not limited to:
- Provide input from the field to support regular schedule Own and manage weekly project schedule updates
- Maintain project cost control and tracking cost information
- Tendering, negotiating, and preparation of trade contracts and purchase agreements not provided by pre-construction services
- Attend and schedule construction meetings as required
- Create, maintain, submit change orders in a timely manner
- Conduct audits for quality and company standards.
- Prepare and issue Field Review Reports, change notices, site instructions and clarifications as needed
- At completion, review the project for general compliance with contract documents, QC reports, As Built drawings
- Track & manage contemplated change notices and change orders in the database
- Prepare substantial completion certificates and ensure all required project close out documents are obtained and submitted
- Communicate ideas for improving company processes with a positive and constructive attitude, and for developing this attitude in others
- Inform Operational Leadership and other project leadership team members about project status and issues that may impact client relations
- Ensure project Health & Safety & Environmental Standards are met
- Manage cost tracking. Cost tracking shall include: Gathering and recording internal and external project and department costs, Invoicing, change order
- Utilization of construction cost management platform (Viewpoint) to manage all project costs daily.
- Plan, direct, supervise and control the execution of work
- Read, review, and understand the project requirements, scope of work and the contract
- Create, coordinate, and assemble estimating input and quantities
- Provide support to the project and field staff should any issues arise during construction.
- Work with client managers, project engineers, and discipline leads to develop budgets, schedules, and plans for the various elements of a project.
**Requirements**:
**EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE**
- Minimum of 5 years related work experience in civil/utility construction
- Minimum 3 years as a Project Manager or Assistance Project Manager
- Post-secondary education in Construction Management, Project Management (PMP), Mechanical Engineering or related post-secondary program is preferred
- Demonstrated ability in project control, including scheduling using computer programs such as Primavera or Microsoft Projects and Hard Dollar
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office suite especially Excel, Word, Outlook
- Knowledge of main construction office processes; project set up; subcontract management; change orders; RFI's; closeout
- Excellent organization skills and ability to manage a wide variety of issues simultaneously
- Dedicated team player with strong interpersonal and communication skills
- An excellent written and verbal communicator with superior interpersonal and relationship management skills.
- Strong command of the English language with the ability to communicate effectively in oral and written form.
- Results oriented individual with the ability to effectively manage multiple priorities and timelines
- Experience with transmission, distribution, substation, and utility work is preferred
- Experience with environmental agencies and/or regulatory authorities
- Valid driver's license/drivers abstract with mínimal content
- Viewpoint Construction Software experience considered an asset
**SKILLS AND ABILITIES**
- Willingness to work in remote project locations, embedded with operational work groups
- Demonstrated skills in written and verbal communication, coordinating resources as well as the ability to analyze data and solve problems
- A friendly professional demeanor and ability to excel in a team-oriented environment
- Strong analytical and detail-oriented aptitude; a high degree of accuracy is required
- Ability to manage time effectively, set priorities and meet deadlines
- Ability to learn and adapt to change
**Additional Details**:
- Successfully complete pre-employment/pre-access drug and alcohol testing to obtain clearance for site access
- Have and maintain a valid driver's license and acceptable abstract
- Requires regular travel to various project sites and office locations
- Complete background screening and criminal record check
