Calgary French & International School (CFIS) is a full French language immersion co-educational independent school, serving nearly 730 students from preschool through to Grade 12. CFIS is seeking a Concession Cook for our Core Cafeteria for the 2023-2024 school year. The Concession Cook is part of a strong group of employees dedicated to providing nutritious lunches and snacks that help our students reach their full academic potential.
- Adhering to Alberta’s safe food handling guidelines in maintaining a clean and safe workspace and daily temperature recordkeeping.
- Preparing food to be sold through concession service.
- Measuring correct quantities for serving sizes in accordance with Canada’s Food Guide and in adherence to a pre-determined budget.
- Acting as Cashier and selling concession items.
- Restocking concession items for lunchtime concession service.
- Planning and preparing concession Daily Lunch/Soup Program on a weekly basis.
- Assisting the Core Cook, as necessary.
- Serving the students and staff, as needed.
- Assisting dining hall volunteers and the Cook with maintaining a clean and safe dining hall between each sitting and at the end of food service.
- Washing and sanitizing dishes in the cafeteria’s dishwasher room, using Alberta Health Service approved method for commercial dishwashing appliances and the ‘3 sink method’ where needed.
- Assisting with inventory management.
- Ensuring all food is available, including taking out frozen food as needed, for next food service day.
- Working extra occasional after-hours may be available for school sponsored events.
- Other duties as required.

**Qualifications**:

- Fluency in French would be an asset.
- Strong English skills are required.
- A minimum of Emergency First Aid Level B childcare certification (or willing to obtain).
- AHS Food Safety Provincial Certification.
- The mini-course is required and can be complete online.

The successful applicant will need to provide a recent Police Information Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening prior to commencing work.

**Compensation**:

- The position will be paid hourly, and the rate is still to be determined.
- The Concession Cook will have a regular four (4) hour shift per day.
- The position is eligible for employee group benefits and the _Level 1 - 3%_ RSP (Retirement Saving Plan) benefit.
- Two (2) weeks off in December, one (1) week off in each February and March, and in the summer when the school is closed.
