Extraction Associate Paris, ON | Full-Time
The Extraction Associate reports directly to the Manager of Extraction Operations, and is responsible for performing the various activities involved with cannabis oil production and packaging. This includes strictly following established SOPs, operating and cleaning an array of production equipment, and maintaining accurate inventory of cannabis substances.

**ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS**
- Cleaning of premises, instruments, machines and materials as required
- Production, refinement of cannabis extract and various cannabis concentrate formulations according to established SOPs
- Operation, cleaning, and maintenance of formulation, processing and packaging equipment
- Handling of cryogenic fluids and compressed gases
- Troubleshooting equipment and method issues
- Assist in optimizing extraction and cannabis oil processing SOPs
- Complete documentation as required by SOPs
- Maintain strict inventory records using documentation and an in-house ERP Software
- Other tasks as assigned by the extraction operations manager, lead, or technicians

**ROLE REQUIREMENTS/ABILITIES**
**Experience / Education**
- Degree or diploma in Science/Engineering and/or 1+ years of relevant Cannabis Extraction Production experience
- Strong Science/Mechanical background
- Skills & Abilities
- Must be able to manage multiple priorities with excellent attention to detail
- General operational knowledge of cannabis oil production equipment (mills, ovens, CO2 extractors, pumps, vacuum filtration, rotary evaporators, reactors, liquid fillers, capping machines, labelling machines)
- Previous experience working in a food or pharmaceutical (GMP) environment is an asset.
- Flexible in work assignments and scheduling
- Ability to maintain accurate inventory of cannabis substances in real-time
- Experience handling solvents, cryogenic fluids and compressed gases
- Excellent computer skills (MS Word, Excel, Powerpoint)
- Ability to work effectively and efficiently with mínimal supervision
- Must be able to manage multiple priorities with excellent attention to detail
- Experience working for a licensed cannabis producer
- Ability to obtain and maintain A/RPIC status as required through Health Canada

- Due to the nature of the role (operating potentially harmful equipment, handling potentially harmful substances, analyzing and interpreting analytical data), the Extraction Associate needs to maintain mental, visual and audible concentration at all times. Not doing so could result in damage to equipment/premises, or injury to employees.

- Hazardous Conditions - The Extraction Associate is responsible for cannabis oil production activities, which could involve the use of cryogenic fluids (liquid nitrogen and liquid carbon dioxide), equipment that utilize modified pressures (vacuum - decarboxylation oven and rotary evaporators; very high pressure (5000 psi) - CO2 extractor), particulates (milled cannabis, activated carbon, silica), solvents (ethanol, hexane, pentane, methanol, acetonitrile) and heavy lifting (50+ lbs). An individual with the educational and work experience indicated above should have experience working under these conditions.
- Disagreeable conditions - Most of the work day would be spent on one’s feet, and periodically involves the use of Tyvek suits which can be uncomfortable and hot.

Note: The chosen applicant will be required to successfully complete reference checks and a criminal background check.

Pay: $19.00-$22.00 per hour
