**Position Summary**:
The Manager of Data Literacy and Analytics is responsible for leading the airport’s data literacy program and delivery actionable data insights through a comprehensive data analytics and business intelligence program, while championing and supporting data self-service. This individual will be responsible for creating and delivering a progressive data curriculum to employees and leading an analytics and BI team that provides tailored support to empower our employees with data technology and analytics practices. This role will also be responsible to collaboratively work with business stakeholders through a service delivery model to intake hypotheses and ideas to produce innovative business insights and visualizations that will support the organization’s strategic priorities.
**Key Accountabilities**:
- Lead a technical team of Data Translators, Data Analysts, BI Developers, and Data Scientists that will intake, design, and deliver data-driven initiatives to address strategic business opportunities
- Collaborate with cross-functional leaders to understand their business objectives to provide innovative ideas of how data can support their strategy and objectives
- Ensure quality and accuracy of the teams’ data analysis, data visualizations and presentations to business partners
- Lead a team of Data Scientists that will perform advanced analytics and machine learning to build statistical models of our business to increase predictability
- Lead the development and delivery of a comprehensive and progressive data literacy program to improve the data and analytics skills and capabilities of our employees
- Conduct departmental/team training sessions and workshops for targeted skill development in the areas of data foundations, data analysis, and data technology platforms
- Establish creative and engaging opportunities for the organization to explore and learn new concepts in data insights and analysis (i.e. hackathons, lunch & learns, University co-op partnerships, industry associations, etc.)
- Design and implement enterprise Business Intelligence platform standards and templates to drive consistency for business reporting
- Provide mentorship, consulting, and 1-on-1 coaching to business and data analysts across the organization to support employees delivering relevant and easy to understand data insights
- Model the GTAA leadership behaviours to support and further the business’ vision through building and development of diverse, multi-skilled team
**Qualifications**:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as Data Management, Information Systems, Engineering, or Business Administration Industry experience or industry related experience (aviation, transportation, etc.)
- 8 years of experience in data literacy, analytics, or related roles
- 5+ years leading a data analytics function and team (data analysts, Power BI developers, data translators/BA’s, etc.)
- Strong history of communicating and training data literacy principles, Business Intelligence platforms, and analytics best practices
- Experience developing, managing, and championing a culture of data-driven decision making within an organization through a federated self-service model
- Expertise in Microsoft Power BI to deliver enterprise performance reporting and innovative solutions for complex business problems
- Ability to obtain and retain a Transportation Security Clearance
- Valid Ontario driver’s license
