**What can I expect to do in this role?**: Job Summary:
Working independently and as part of a team, the Translator and Editor (French/English) provides timely and quality translation services (English to French as well as French to English) to all WSIB operating areas. The Translator and Editor (French/English) will work closely with the Coordinator, French Translation, to provide consultation services to internal and external stakeholders. This includes providing language advice and recommendations related to WSIB French terminology and linguistic issues in general communication, policy preparation and legislative changes.

**Knowledge, Skills and Abilities**: Major Duties & Responsibilities
- Consulting with clients, as required, to identify specific requirements, seek clarification, discuss intent and purpose, and establish deadlines for completion of translations;
- Researching appropriate terminology;
- Translating documents, ensuring that final text conveys intent, meaning, tone and level of language of source documents; reviewing documents for content, style and terminology requirements; forwarding translations to coworkers for quality assurance and plain language reviews;

Proofread and revise own and co-workers' translations for grammar, style, clarity, intent, WSIB terminology, and plain language. Proofread layout and graphics of a variety of materials ranging from Excel charts to flash web content to verify correct detail of language and format. Format translated documents (PowerPoint, Word) as required in order to match the format of the original English document. Add French captions to English videos and assist with management of social media (Twitter Account and LinkedIn) by monitoring, identifying and translating English tweets into French based on twitter requirements, accessibility standards and compliance to the French Language Services Act.

In consultation with the Coordinator, French Translation, and as required, provide consultation and act as a resource to provide technical expertise and guidance on terminology and linguistic issues to internal and external clients.

In collaboration with the Coordinator, French Translation, create, maintain, and update the WSIB bilingual lexicon on an ongoing basis.

Proofread and correct French letters composed by internal clients, such as case managers, providing explanations on any changes and/or recommended suggestions. Respond to calls from external clients regarding French terminology used at WSIB.

Provide on-the-job training and job shadowing to new or less experienced French Translation staff within the team regarding WSIB terminology as well as translation and division procedures.

Assist Coordinator, French Translation, with translation software (SDL Trados, MultiTerm) issues, including project creation, memory management and troubleshooting.

Review WSIB website content to ensure compliance with the French
