Events & Social Media Coordinator

**About us**:
Point of Mara Resort is looking to fill a Events & Social Media Coordinator position for this upcoming summer season (June-August). We have 20 acres on Lake Simcoe of 95 seasonal trailer sites, campground sites, beach and a marina. We host families every summer at our facilities and run many events for all ages to create an unforgettable summer experience for our guests. **Responsibilities**:

- Organize all 2024 campground events & programs for children, families, seniors, & adults
- Manage social media accounts to increase followers / engagement and promote events
- Prepares, designs and coordinates all publicity and promotional materials related to special events, invitations, newsletter material and signage
- Coordinate with volunteers and supervisors to setup, operate and clean-up events utilizing supplies, decorations, food & beverage, music, equipment rental, vendor coordination, etc.
- Create summer event calendar for campground guests
- Maintains the currency and style of our Instagram & Facebook account and contribute to the planning and direction of the Website, ensuring consistency and currency and performing updates (ongoing)
- Participate in various community events to promote the campground
- Assist resort with various other general labor duties that may arise
- Ability to multi-task, working on details for more than one event / project at a time.

Previous events include arts & crafts, sporting events, water activities, movie nights, sporting events (baseball, basketball, etc), Bocce ball tournaments, yoga, pickleball, Family Celebration Day, Pot Luck Dinners, Christmas in July, Pig Roast, karaoke, etc. We are looking for this position to refresh our events calendar and bring another level of energy to them for our guests

**Qualifications & Skills**
- Strong Communication & Customer Service Skills
- Experience with children
- Comfortable working outside in all weather conditions (heat, cold, rain)
- Effective communication skills, speaking, listening and responding
- Standard First Aid with CPR-C training an asset

**Salary**: $16.00-$22.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 - 40 per week
