Join us just in time for bustling, sunny patio season at The Miller Yonge Street. Our stunning restaurant, bar, and multi-level terrace oasis is a Hogg’s Hollow institution that both locals and downtown dwellers escape to (especially come summertime). We’re on the hunt for passionate, friendly, experienced hospitality team members as we ramp up for our busiest months of the year.

The **MILLER TAVERN YONGE STREET** is currently hiring a **OYSTER SHUCKER **to join our Culinary team

The **MILLER TAVERN YONGE STREET**, a Hogg’s Hollow institution that dates back to the 1860’s, reveres tradition and reads classic American tavern. Market fresh dishes from the land and the sea are complemented by an extensive collection of spirits, a robust wine list featuring French and American vintages as well as expertly mixed classic cocktails. The MILLER TAVERN welcomes guests with its warm hospitality for lunch & dinner every day of the week.

**DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Ensure oyster bar is properly prepared based on established guidelines
- Provide fast, accurate shucking (separating the oyster meat from the shell) of oysters utilizing ashucking knife
- Restock all items through each shift
- Ensure all tools and equipment are properly stored and safely used

**SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS**:

- Minimum 3+ years experience as an Oyster Shucker
- Food Handling and Health & Safety training, an asset
- Strong shucking skills and workable knowledge of kitchen equipment
- Able to follow oral and written instructions
- Highly organized and strong time management skills
- Must exhibit a high degree of professionalism; (i.e. punctuality, dedication, well-groomed, mannerly)
- Must have physical stamina to lift moderate amounts of weight
- Ability to stand for long periods of time
