Knifewear Needs a Warehouse Associate

Calgary, Canada Knifewear Full time

Our warehouse is in need of a hard-working and reliable person to assist in packing customer orders, transferring product to our retail locations, receiving goods, and keeping the place clean and organized. Experience in a warehouse will be considered an asset but is not necessary, same goes for restaurant experience; we love working with cooks and chefs. If you appreciate earnest craftsmanship, have a passion for quality, hard work and can connect with people, please apply.

Your foremost responsibility is to treat your employer, co-workers and customers with consideration and respect, as well as understand and represent the ethos of the Knifewear Group and its brands in a positive manner whether working or not. Success happens as a result of trial and error; you will make mistakes and have failures if you are trying to succeed. You must be comfortable owning these mistakes and failures while sharing your successes. You must take responsibility for your training, sales, performance, knowledge, timeliness, and attendance. It is your responsibility to know when to ask for help.

Job #1 is customers.

Warehouse customers extend beyond the people who visit, call, or place orders through our website; your customers include the shops that you supply and their staff.
- People need to leave happier than when they arrived.
- Customers will be welcomed with genuine enthusiasm.
- Have knowledge of the products, their use, and their care.
- Work with customers to establish their needs and then help them decide what they should buy.
- Share the product knowledge in a way that meets the customer's needs.
- Handle transactions with accuracy and completeness.
- Add value to purchases whenever possible with suggestions.
- Help customers via online channels and Help Desk in an engaging way.
- Learn to handle customers in unhappy situations to come to a resolution that works for both parties.

**Job #2 - Everything Else.**
- Establish a positive rapport with co-workers and take part in building a successful team throughout the company.
- Handle inventory carefully and with accuracy.
- Work in an organized and tidy manner to minimize clean-up.
- Address and fix safety issues or hazards immediately.
- Participate in the daily, weekly and monthly cleaning duties.
- If you see a mistake that needs fixing, say something, own it and fix it.
- Be careful when handling, or around others handling, sharp or otherwise dangerous objects.
- Perform inventory counts promptly and accurately as per your manager.
- Handle the inventory, the fixtures, and property in general with care to avoid damage.
- Communicate discrepancies, deficiencies, damage or faults with your manager.
- Communicate regarding challenging customer situations, including harassment, with your manager.
- Communicate when tasks have or have not been completed as assigned.

We want to challenge the status quo and destroy classic retail. Retail can be a rewarding career and customers should feel more than “Satisfied”. We say that work should be enjoyable and help improve your life. Customers should buy things that help them enjoy their lives while having fun. We build community through our store and events that gather people who enjoy food, cooking and hand crafted tools. Most of all we like to go above and beyond.

**How to Apply**:
Please attach both a current resume and tailored cover letter. Applications without a cover letter will not be considered. We want to know why you are interested in working for Knifewear and what strengths you can bring to our team.

We'll be in touch
