**Production Worker**

Nu Home Ideas designs, develops, and manufactures pieces of decor and wooden toys at our Ottawa facility. We are currently looking for a motivated and dedicated Production Worker to join our team. As a Production Worker, you will play a crucial role in supporting our projects and contributing to the creation of pieces of decor and Montessori toys.

The Role:
The Production Worker is responsible for the manufacturing, assembly, and packaging of pieces of decor, wooden toys, and other manually built product components. The Production Worker is also responsible for operating machines used in the fabrication and assembly processes, as well as organizing product layouts.

Key Responsibilities:

- Operate equipment used in the manufacturing of products and complete product assembly according to instructions, on-time, and in accordance with prescribed quality standards.
- Ensure the efficient operation and assembly of equipment used in product manufacturing, following established procedures, safety protocols, and workplace policies.
- Perform tasks such as cutting, sanding, painting, wrapping, and packaging using hand and power tools, as well as restocking materials.
- Meet all production schedules and deadlines
- Review work instructions, procedures, and checklists. Ensure that materials and equipment needed for production are ready and that the work area is properly prepared.
- Perform routine, and repetitive tasks involving physical labor and is required to operate equipment and use hand and power tools.
- Conduct visual inspections to consistently ensure all quality specifications and standards are met during production.
- Perform general shop duties as assigned
- Wear and use appropriate safety equipment
- Maintain preventive maintenance, safety, and quality control processes while ensuring cleanliness standards are met in the work area.
- Escalate issues that may impact production to the supervisor.
- Ensure required materials and supplies are available at all times.
- Actively participate in problem solving sessions and continuously identify improvement initiatives.
- Perform physically demanding tasks, including heavy lifting
- Operate one or more machine operating positions at the assigned work area
- Provide training to others on a daily basis.
- Stop machines, tools or processes for safety and operational concerns.
- Perform any other duties as required.

Knowledge & Requirements:

- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Proficiency in computer skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Strong ability to work in a fast-paced and solutions-oriented environment.
- Quick learner with the ability to adapt to changing environments.
- Basic knowledge of English is required.
- Strong problem solving skills.
- Eagerness to learn new skills and continuously improve.
- Experience working with vector-based editors is an asset.
- Experience operating machinery in a manufacturing environment.
- Capable of performing manual labor tasks.
- Capable of lifting heavy objects.
- Excellent work ethic and proven dependability.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently with mínimal supervision and as part of a team.
- Outstanding enthusiasm and motivation.
- Effective communication skills.
- Ability to operate hand and power tools.
- Familiarity with both imperial and metric measurement systems.
- Ability to adapt to a changing environment.
- Work within Health & Safety requirements.
- The ability to understand and communicate information effectively.
- Previous experience in a manufacturing environment is an asset.

Pay: $19.00-$23.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
