**KEY FUNCTION**:
Provide psychological services including assessment consultation diagnosis and treatment of patients of all ages (children, youth and adult) presenting for eating disorder program service. Support the implementation of clinical best practices, knowledge transfer, and translation of evidence into practice for disciplines working across the Mental Health and Addiction Program and other programs as required.

**REPORTING**:
Under the general direction of the Clinical Manager, Regional Eating Disorders Program.

**DUTIES**:

- Perform psychological assessments and clinical evaluations to diagnose or treat eating and feeding Avoidant/Restrictive Food Intake Disorder (ARFID) disorders.
- Formulate and conceptualize treatment planning from diagnosis and select consequent best practice treatment models.
- Provide a range of individual and group therapies specific to the complex needs of eating and feeding (ARFID) clients.
- Consult and liaise with appropriate resources to ensure quality care and maintain patient safety.
- Manage suicidal risk.
- Work collaboratively with all team members to determine, implement, and evaluate treatment plans.
- Provide formal and informal teaching to university students, psychology interns, and other staff as required.
- Select and supervise Master’s Level psychology students receiving field instruction, and liaise with related educational institutions.
- Fulfill ongoing education and training requirements as outlined in the CPO Quality Assurance Program to retain autonomous licensure; attend conferences and in-services as permitted.
- Maintain up-to-date charting/records in compliance with HSN and departmental policies and procedures and the CPO’s reporting requirements.
- Act as a resource for client and family education.
- Participate in and lead research studies as required.
- Design and implement programs and program evaluation.
- Evaluate patient care and satisfaction on an ongoing basis and formulate solutions for improvement.
- Determine and align improvement projects with HSN’s Strategic Plan; monitor and adjust to achieve goal outcomes.
- Participate in education and training specific to current, relevant federal and provincial health and safety legislation, standards and guidelines.
- Educate and promote health, safety and wellness in the work place.
- Represent the department or program on various committees and in meetings as required.
- Perform other duties as required.

**QUALIFICATIONS**

**EDUCATION AND TRAINING**:

- Minimum of a Master’s Degree in Clinical Psychology from an accredited university.
- Current and unrestricted registration with the College of Psychologists of Ontario (CPO) in the area of Clinical Psychology with children and/or adolescent and/or adult competence.
- Current autonomous practice license to perform the Controlled Act of Communicating a Diagnosis in accordance with the CPO and the Regulated Health Professions Act (RHPA) is required.
- Ministry of Labour “Worker Health and Safety Awareness in 4 Steps” training certificate is required.

**EXPERIENCE**:

- Minimum of three (3) years’ experience working in the eating disorders field.
- Experience working in community-based, out-patient programs is required.
- Experience with information technology (video conferencing, electronic mail, telehealth, website development) for consultation, assessment, treatment and training purposes is required.
- Experience working in public education, group presentations, teaching, and community mental health service delivery is preferred.

**KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES**:

- Demonstrated knowledge of principles of recovery as it applies to eating disorders treatment.
- Demonstrated knowledge of best practices as it relates to eating disorders and trauma-informed treatments.
- Demonstrated knowledge of psychological factors affecting eating disorder clients and in-depth understanding of the psychological, physical, and functional problems endemic to eating disorders.
- Demonstrated knowledge of the DSM-5-TR and psychological issues affecting seriously mentally-ill clients and those with addictions.
- Demonstrated competence in assessment and treatment of individuals with eating disorders.
- Demonstrated ability to provide psychological assessment, diagnostic evaluation, and treatment of adolescents and adults with eating disorders and co-occurring disorders
- Demonstrated skills in the area of assessment and therapeutic intervention with individuals, groups and families.
