**Description**

The Bioinformatician will be responsible to analyze next generation sequencing data generated from single cell (sc) RNAseq, scATACseq, scMultiome-seq, scC&Tseq, and various epigenetic studies (ChIPseq, HiChIP). Our laboratory uses these techniques to explore the genomic underpinnings of a novel lymphocyte transdifferentiation pathway that contributes to the suppression of autoimmunity.

Reporting to the Lab Manager.

**Summary of Key Responsibilities** (job functions include but are not limited to):
Technical
- Communication between supervisor, colleagues, and Principal Investigator is essential
- Review scientific data for accuracy
- Data analysis with appropriate software and preparation of figures for publication in a timely manner is required
- Prepare progress reports
- Responsible to analyze next generation sequencing data generated from single cell (sc) RNAseq, scATACseq, scMultiome-seq, scC&Tseq, and various epigenetic studies (ChIPseq, HiChIP)
- Analyze data generated from single-cell RNA sequencing data using a variety of methods

Non-Technical
- Act as a resource to others, using experience and expertise to analyze data as needed
- Support other research projects by providing knowledge and skills in analyzing data

**Qualifications / Requirements**:

- BSc degree (or higher) in Bioinformatics
- Experience with R and bash
- 1 to 3 years of related experience within bioinformatics
- Experience with biostatistics
- Understanding of the fundamentals of scRNAseq, scATACseq, ChIPseq and similar omics techniques
- Workplace hazardous Materials Information System certificate (WhMIS)
- Basic understanding of immunology is desirable, but not required
- Demonstrate strong communication skills, work collaboratively, and have the ability to exercise judgment within established guidelines
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Attention to detail is crucial in following standard operating procedures Good command of the English language is essential for writing necessary reports and interacting with different groups (Principal Investigator and colleagues)
