**Composite & Paint Supervisor**

**The position**

Responsible for leading the paint and composite shops ensuring all applicable standards are met including cost, quality and safety standards. This position will appoint staff in accordance with priorities established by the Person Responsible for Maintenance (PRM). The position in collaboration with other supervisors and the PRM, helps to maintain professionalism and good work ethic; it is their duty to be a role model for the team. Other key responsibilities include:

- Understand, implement, and develop KPI’s to assist with Hangar targets from team leaders, technicians, and PRM.
- Ensure that hangars and equipment are maintained in good working order and report defects to GSE department.
- Works closely with various levels of management, departments and employees, in collaboration with department management. Plan, budgets and schedules facility modification, including computation of cost estimates and actual cost factors such as materials, labor and outside contractors.
- As a People Leader, responsible for providing guidance, coaching and training to their team, creating a safe atmosphere for the team and manage employee performance.
- Maintains staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees; developing personal growth opportunities. Able to adapt to changing priorities/projects in the hangar and reallocate staff as required to meet business goals.
- Ensure that all work is performed to AAR’s quality standards, policies & procedures and regulatory requirements.
- Actively participate in the Safety Management System (SMS), including reporting safety hazards and incidents encountered in daily operations; understand and promote the company safety policy
- Promote and actively engage in continuous improvement activities & incentives and as required and work with Continuous Improvement Specialist to support implementation of required changes.
- Act as an inspector, utilizing all applicable licenses/ACA authorities given. Providing oversight in the shops and releasing/buying back work accomplished by the paint/composite trades on the aircraft and repairs exiting the shops.

**Education and experience**
- Must possess a Transport Canada S-License
- Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis
- Minimum 5 years’ experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified
- Experience managing stock levels and self-life products
- Proficient in Microsoft Office skills including Word, Excel and Power Point

**Working Conditions**
- Situated on the hangar floor
- Desk work using a computer
- Ability to lift up to 25lbs
- Periodic overtime may be required
