Manitoba recognizes the hard work and dedication of our front-line heath care providers and we are looking for additional experienced health care providers to offer support during these unprecedented and challenging times, to help provincial efforts to prevent and control the spread of COVID-19. Position Overview Under the general supervision of the Team Coordinator or designate, the Aide acts as a member of the health care team, assisting with client personal care and providing basic supportive care as directed. The Health Care Aide demonstrates a commitment to the vision, values, goals, and objectives of the region/site/program. Experience Previous client care experience required. Community or geriatric experience preferred. Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate) Minimum Grade 10 education, Manitoba standards, required. Successful completion of a recognized Health Care Aide course required. HCA Challenge Programs are not recognized as an approved HCA course. Qualifications and Skills Knowledge: Personal Health Information Act (PHIA), Workplace Hazardous Material Information System (WHMIS) and Principles of Routine Practices (Universal Precautions) required. Information and/or training will be provided within the probation period for the following: Regional, site and program policies and procedures. Roles and responsibilities of members of the health care team. General skills and ability to perform all tasks and responsibilities relevant to the duties of the position. Ability to organize and prioritize assigned workload. Ability to recognize and pursue self-development opportunities. Effective verbal and written communication skills. Basic computer skills: MS Word and Outlook. Experience with an electronic charting system preferred.
