Basketball Statistician

**BASKETBALL STATISTICIAN**

**JOB DESCRIPTION**

Under the supervision of the Game Supervisor and the Athletic Director, the Basketball Statistician is responsible for entering all game statistics for La Cite Coyotes basketball games into the appropriate on-line program, as prescribed by the provincial college league. They must be familiar with the sport of basketball, the terms used, the play, and the game statistics normally recorded during these games. They are also responsible for finding assistants to help during games and replace in case of absence.

**DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**
**- **Be familiar with the sport of basketball, the terms used, the flow, and the game statistics normally recorded during these games (e.g. points, rebounds, assists, steals, blocks, etc.).
**- **Become familiar with the league's statistical computer program - Presto Sports.
**- **Attend training sessions offered by the league on the computer program and/or statistics.
**- **Prepare each game in the computer program before the start of the match (e.g., register players for each team, starting line-ups, etc.).
**- **Establish good communication with co-workers and supervisors.
- Find assistants to help during all Coyotes basketball home games (spotter, replacement).
**- **Attend each scheduled Coyotes game at least 30 minutes before game time (set-up, preparation, consultation with co-workers).
**- **Always follow the game supervisor’s instructions before, during and after games.
**- **Print statistics for each team at half-time and again at the end of each game.
- At the end of the game, report stats to the league and ensure takedown and cleanliness of workstation.
**- **Assist Game Supervisor and Athletic Director in all other related duties.

**REQUIREMENTS**
- Knowledge of basketball statistics.
- Experience with basketball statistics computer programs.
- Passion for the sport of basketball is preferred.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule.
- Always demonstrate autonomy and professionalism.
- Knowledge of Coyotes and AE policies, procedures and regulations.
- Ability to communicate in French and English preferred.

**RATE OF PAY**
- $50 to $75 per game, dependent on level of experience and knowledge of league procedures and online stats program.
