We are looking for a Quarry Superintendent for Walker Aggregates at our Vineland location.

**Quarry Superintendent**

This position requires an advanced degree of initiative and judgment in order to supervise the workload of others, organize and prioritize daily tasks. Proficient level of courtesy, tact and diplomacy are required in dealing with others in every day working relationships.
- Ideally, you have these qualifications:_
- Minimum high school graduation, or equivalent level of education, plus an additional three year college diploma (CET/Operations Management/Business Management).
- WHMIS
- Greater than five years but less than or equal to seven years aggregate/quarry/operations and supervisory experience.
- A valid G Registration Ontario Driver’s Licence in good standing is required for this position.
- Practically speaking, you will:_
- Oversee workloads and provide supervision to a medium sized, unionized, aggregate and quarry operations team to ensure that work is done accurately, efficiently and complies with policies, procedures and regulations as well as best working practices.
- Provide guidance, motivation, and performance review including hiring and terminating employees, to maintain and enhance competency levels, identify future training requirements and achieve goals to increase performance. The incumbent works together with staff and union representatives to administer the collective agreement and resolve grievances.
- Schedule and implement all maintenance programs for stationary and mobile equipment to ensure all machinery operates safely at optimum levels and reduces unnecessary downtime.
- Identify and purchase new equipment, materials and tools required to perform continuous, efficient quarry operations.
- Oversee drilling and blasting operations to ensure compliance with policies, procedures and regulations and limit exposure to off-site receptors.
- Provide long and short term extraction planning as well as operational financial budgeting, and public relations campaigns.
- Liaise with various governmental agencies such as Ministry of Labour, Natural Resources and Environment to ensure compliance to regulations and legislation. Completes all necessary documentation and reports for ministries as required.
- Attend community functions as necessary to provide current information and/or education to develop and maintain good relations with neighbours and promote a solid corporate image.
