Alteo is looking for an IT Director for a permanent position based in the Greater Montreal area.

You will be responsible for the overall integrity of the network infrastructure, including: domain/user management, asset management and life cycle, data integrity, systems availability, cyber security, maintenance, user support and communications, and disaster recovery. Reporting to the VP of Operations, the IT Manager will also lead the technological expansion of the infrastructure aimed at increasing operational efficiency by leveraging emerging technologies in the IT/IS fields on rolling a five-year strategic plan. The IT Manager will also be responsible for their direct employees, Managed Service Providers and the global IS infrastructure. Continuous improvement projects to optimize general company operations and efficiency are also expected as your team can bring new perspectives to improve general output of the company. Lastly, it is expected that the IT Manager be fiscally responsible in decision making and financial management.

**Responsibilities**:
> Infrastructure:

- Implement and execute best practices with regards to network maintenance, audits, and controls
- Ensure the integrity of the complete network to ensure uptime while preventing any un-planned downtime through monitoring and maintenance
- Ensure our environment is secure from all internal/external threats. Includes being very aware of global threats and ensuring our environment is always patched and secure
- Document and maintain network mapping and other pertinent information to manage, maintain and evolve the network
- Ensure backups are well designed and functioning through monthly audits which includes bi-annual return to operation (RTO) simulations
- Anticipate, mitigate, identify, troubleshoot, and resolve hardware and software problems as needed
- Schedule, and perform software and hardware improvements, upgrades, patches, reconfigurations, and/or purchases
- Execute monthly external audits while ensuring timely remediation
- Operations:

- Implement and manage best practices for user support, onboarding, offboarding and training through the Service Desk
- Propose and implement improvement and tools to streamline operations and improve efficiency which includes initiatives outside the department
- Anticipate, mitigate, identify, troubleshoot, and resolve user related issues as necessary
- Administration:

- Establish and maintain the Company Management System
- Manage department expenses including but not limited to: licenses, hardware, mobility, services, consultants and contracts. It is expected that you drive down costs, collaborate with support departments like procurement and manage astutely
- Managing the physical space and inventory in a tidy and organized fashion. This also includes the distribution or disposal of aged inventory
- Build and maintain 5 year rolling strategic plan including a detailed annual budget
- Manage both internal and external communications to ensure transparency and alignment throughout the organization
- Establish policies and processes to optimize governance of all things related to IS such as but not including: privacy, security, users, storage, accesses, hardware, best practices, knowledgebase, etc.
- Establish and manage asset management for both users and infrastructure which includes aging and rolling budgets to sustain viability of equipment
- Conduct research on emerging products, services, protocols, and standards in support of optimizing company performance
- Always maintain strict confidentiality

**Profile**:

- DEC/BAC in IT, Information Systems Management or equivalent
- 10+ years of experience in IT
- 3+ years of experience in a managing role
- Project management training and experience
- IT certifications
- Leadership, coaching and management acumen
- Good communication skills in English and French (spoken and written)
