**Laundry Attendant**

**Microtel Inn & Suites Kitimat, BC**

The **Laundry Attendant **will ensure professional sorting, laundering, stacking of all linen/toweling to achieve the standard of productivity and presentation required by hotel and company policy. This is a part-time position that requires availability to work weekends.

**RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Ensure maximum efficiency/economy of washing machines and dryers
- Assist in collection of used linen from the floors and sort to wash type
- Fold and stack linen
- Change chemical dispensers
- Launder blankets, bedspreads and other items
- Assist in other areas of the Housekeeping Department
- Handle soiled linen in accordance with health and safety requirements
- Assist in inventory control
- Notify any repairs/alternations required to linen, terry, bedding and drapes
- Ensure the security of stock and the working area

**QUALIFICATIONS**:
**Experience Required**
- 1-2 years of experience working in a similar role, previous hotel experience considered an asset

- Strong attention to detail, quality workmanship
- Ability to demonstrate being a team player
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
- A fun, positive attitude with a sense of humour

**Desired Education**
- A High School Diploma or GED required

**WORKING CONDITIONS**:

- May be required to work early morning and weekend shifts
- May be required to lift objects up to 30 lbs.
