Canadian International Student Services (CISS) is currently looking for enthusiastic and dynamic HIGH SCHOOL students to be part of our programme in North Vancouver.

**Location**:
CISS Vancouver, Capilano University (Main Campus)

**JOB DETAILS**:
$100 per week, 5 hours per week
Will assist teachers during Future-Ready skills workshops held on Monday and Wednesday afternoons (5 hours each week).
Varying contract lengths are available from July 10 - August 5, 2023
**Must be able to commute to/from the campus**

**FUTURE-READY SKILLS WORKSHOPS - COURSE DESCRIPTION**:
Two afternoons per week, students participate in workshops designed to enhance the language learning experience while focusing on developing “Future-Ready” skills that are considered essential for success in today’s ever-changing workplace.

Workshops should provide interactive and engaging activity-based challenges designed to push students to think in new ways, learn new approaches to problem-solving, and work as a team to achieve their goals.

POSITION DESCRIPTION

Want to meet the world and make a positive difference in someone’s life? Canadian International Student Services is looking for enthusiastic high school students who are interested in participating in afternoon Future-Ready Skills workshops with our international students. These workshops are designed to teach students many of the soft-skills, which are considered key to succeeding in today’s world.

Your role will be to help facilitate these workshops under the teacher’s direction and to provide support to our ESL students. We also expect the high school buddies to actively participate, providing a Canadian perspective on the topics of discussion.

**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**:
Specific duties include but are not limited to:

- engaging international students in topics provided by teacher
- helping to bring a true Canadian perspective to discussions
- to be part of a cultural exchange with students

**ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS**
- Experience volunteering or working with other youth
- Passion for self-development and the development of others
- Experience working with international students is an asset

**KEY COMPETENCIES**

**Job Types**: Part-time, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 2-4 weeks
Part-time hours: 5 per week

**Salary**: $100.00 per week

Schedule:

- No weekends

Ability to commute/relocate:

- North Vancouver, BC: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

**Education**:

- Secondary School (preferred)

**Experience**:

- teaching: 1 year (required)
