**New Hire Schedule**:Monday to Friday 7am-5:30pm

Job Summary
- Obtain daily production schedule and preparation requirements from the Chef
- Set up items for purchase on daily basis.
- Assist in the preparation and cooking of various food items
- Wash, peel, cut and shred fruits and vegetables and fruits
- Prepare cooking ingredients by washing and chopping vegetables, cutting meat etc.
- Prepare simple dishes such as salads, entrees etc.
- Perform other kitchen duties as assigned
- Label and stock all ingredients on shelves so they can be organized and easily accessible
- Serve meals or prepare for delivery by using correct portioning, meeting outlined standards, ensuring that food is at the correct temperature and is attractive and tasty. Tastes all prepared
- Serve customers in a friendly, efficient manner following outlined steps of service.
- Resolve customer concerns and relays relevant information to supervisor.
- Provide service in all retail areas, including cashiering and line serving
- Operate and maintain kitchen equipment as instructed
- Assist in production planning, record keeping and reporting as required
- Assist in the ordering and receiving of all food and supplies as required
- Ensure all food and other items are stored properly
- Keep refrigerators and storerooms clean and neat. Ensure food and supply items are stored per standards
- Utilize approved food recipes and production standards to ensure proper quality, serving temperatures and standard portion control. Notify cooks if food temperatures are not within acceptable limits.
- Assure compliance with all sanitation and safety requirements.
- Maintain a clean and orderly kitchen by washing dishes, sanitizing surfaces, taking out trash etc
- Maintain work area and equipment. Follow principles of sanitation and safety in handling food and equipment
- Comply with nutrition and sanitation guidelines
- Clean kitchen after preparation and serving, maintaining high standards of cleanliness. Store or discard excess food in accordance with safe food-handling procedures
- Report needed maintenance, faulty equipment, or accidents to the supervisor immediately

**Qualifications**:

- Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position
- Ability to work in a self-directed environment and effectively within an interdisciplinary team
- A team player with effective communication skills
- Accuracy and speed in executing assigned tasks
- Able to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong time management and organizational skills to be able to manage heavy workload.
- Knowledge of health and safety rules in a kitchen
- Experience in basic food preparation
- Ability to operate cooking equipment and complete all other cooking tasks
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Able to operate cutting tools and kitchen utensils
- Patient with an ability to stay positive under pressure
