**Preparation**
- Assist with development of project specific commissioning test procedures & checksheets
- Assist with development of isolation matrix for equipment
- Identify and document key risks and hazards associated with commissioning activities and communicate appropriate controls through the sites risk assessment process
- Assist in establishing, maintaining and reviewing effective management plans for the project
- Review commissioning planning, programming and on-site completion schedules and liaise with the Commissioning Manager and Project Manager over resource requirements, completion dates etc

**Site Commissioning**
- Development of isolation permits and communication of isolations to commissioning team and construction workforce
- Review construction verification documentation and equipment condition prior to commencing commissioning activities to ensure equipment is safe to energise.
- Identify, document and communicate outstanding work (punchlist items) from both construction activities and commissioning activities
- Supervise and schedule activities of site teams and liaise with on-site staff to ensure the co-ordination of the complete commissioning process
- Resolve day-to-day on-site industrial relations problems so far as this is practicable and refer major industrial relations problems to the Commissioning Manager or Project Manager
- Refer any major problems during the project’s duration to the Commissioning or Project Manager.
- Complete testing of equipment in accordance with the test procedures and checksheets
- Complete commissioning documentation including test procedures, checksheets, as-commissioned drawings etc.
- Provide oversight of vendor commissioning personnel and assist vendor commissioning personnel with troubleshooting of issues.
- Follow site change management process, including assessment and documentation of any changes to the design intent.
- Provide technical advice to trade labour on site for commissioning assistance and construction closeout.
- Provide clear and concise communication to other commissioning team members
- Follow 2-way radio etiquette including:

- Use positive communication for all messages
- Ensure messages are concise, precise, and clear.
- Don’t interrupt if you hear people talking
- Complete commissioning activities and documentation in accordance with priorities and schedule provided by the commissioning manager.
- Foster and maintain good relationships with the commissioning, and wider project teams
- Troubleshoot issues identified during testing and rectify issue if possible. Collaborate with other disciplines in the commissioning team to troubleshoot more complex issues and provide details on required rectification to Commissioning Manager if immediate rectification is not possible.
- Take ownership of design and commissioning issues associated with your assigned discipline ensuring timely close out and no legacy items at end of project completion
- Electrical troubleshooting examples:

- Identify cause of protection device trips and provide recommendation to the engineers for equipment testing and or protection modification as required
- Identify cause of functions not working correctly during function testing (e.g. wiring issue, faulty device, PLC logic issue, mechanical equipment fault), and rectify as required
- Identify issues with incorrect instrument settings and review device documentation to determine changes required, and rectify
- Mechanical troubleshooting examples:

- Identify root cause of spillage / overflows in platework / pipework / equipment and provide recommendation for rectification
- Observe processing equipment operation to identify any abnormal / non-optimal operation, and identify correction required
