Rocket Science is an Emmy nominated boutique visual effects studio collaborating with filmmakers to create stunning visual imagery utilizing artistry, science and technology. Located in Toronto, Canada, notable credits include Eric Kripke’s Emmy nominated superhero series THE BOYS (Amazon),Tim Burton’s critically acclaimed WEDNESDAY (Netflix), the epic video game adaptation HALO (Paramount +), Steve Blackman’s THE UMBRELLA ACADEMY (Netflix), and features such David Cronenberg’s CRIMES OF THE FUTURE, Noah Baumbach’s WHITE NOISE (Netflix) and the upcoming Lionsgate release from director Jean-Francois Richet, PLANE.

RSVFX is currently in production Mike Flanagan’s Edgar Allan Poe adaptation THE FALL OF THE HOUSE OF USHER (Netflix), Rian Johnson’s POKER FACE, Michele Fazekas' and Tara Butters' THE BOYS spinoff GEN V (Amazon), as well as upcoming features, including, Rachel Morrison’s FLINT STRONG (MGM), Jeremy Garelick’s MURDER MYSTERY 2 (Netflix) and FREAKY TALES (eOne), directed by Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck.

**Responsibilities**:

- Light and render 3D scenes in a live-action VFX environment.
- Help establish the overall aesthetics through look development and R&D.
- Collaborate with CG Supervisors to establish overall aesthetics through lookdev and R&D.
- Ability to work closely with 3D Artists and Compositors to integrate CG elements.
- Solve creative and technical problems under tight deadlines.

**Qualifications**:

- 2+ years experience as a Lighter in live-action VFX pipeline.
- Proven ability to light and render 3d scenes.
- Proficiency in Maya, Nuke, and Houdini.
- Knowledge of Mantra is considered an asset.
- Capacity to thrive in a results-driven pipeline.
- A proven eye for detail, composition, colour and lighting.
- Excellent communication and collaborative skills.
