**Our Library System**

The Thompson-Nicola Regional Library (TNRL), the biggest Regional District department provides services through 13 locations and a Mobile Library. Located in the Central Interior of British Columbia, the TNRL is committed to providing excellent service to patrons for lifetime personal growth, learning and enjoyment. The Library team provides programming, materials and resources to people of all ages and abilities. The Coordinator will work in an organization that values flexibility and exemplary service. As a member of the library team, you will help to build strong relationships and partnerships in all our communities.

**The Role**

We are seeking a permanent part-time Page at the Merritt Library who will create a welcoming environment and a superb library experience for all.

Reporting to the Branch Head, this position ensures that materials are on the shelves for customers and staff to find. The Page helps direct customers to the things they want, and provides good customer service. Other duties include tidying, preparation of displays and programs, checking in/out library materials, and packing/unpacking shipments. Other responsibilities include cleaning and minor preparation of routine displays of library material, clearing abandoned material from public areas, answering directional questions and referring information questions to appropriate staff, photocopying materials, and checking in/out library materials. The Page also interacts with the public and may occasionally deal with challenging situations.

The schedule for this **FTE: 0.3 **position is attached.

- Demonstrated ability to manage conflict and diffuse difficult patron situations;
- Grade 12 or General Education Development Diploma (GED);
- BC Driver's license;
- Basic computer skills; and
- Ability to lift 20-25 lbs.
