**LOCATION**: Various Saskatchewan

**START DATE**: May 29th, 2024

**SHIFT**: 10 hours days plus overtime - 14/7 schedule

Adanac Telecom Ltd. is a metis owned and operated business looking to add motivated new workers to our team

We are seeking an backhoe/excavator operator. The individual will be responsible for the daily maintenance of the equipment and the equipment operation/excavation needed to assist a field team to install fibre optic telecommunication line in rural Saskatchewan communities. We are willing to train the right individual.

A career with Adanac Telecom Ltd. does require travel, but we will provide living allowance for accommodations.

**The position includes, but not limited to**:

- Daily completion of the required safety documentation and ensure all tasks are always completed in a safe and professional manner.
- Follow and understand safe work practices and procedures in relation to fibre optic installation, construction, ground disturbance, and equipment operation.
- Take direction and perform tasks with minimum supervision.
- Read engineered drawings and specifications to perform work.
- Determine requirements for each job and able to effectively plan task sequence.
- Communicate effectively, professionally and demonstrate a strong customer service focus in all interactions.
- Troubleshoot minor mechanical issues and as the need arises perform minor repairs to equipment.
- General housekeeping duties

**Experience/Skills**:

- Safety mindset. Safe production is essential
- Previous operation experience (min 3 years) or other related industrial experience preferred.
- Experience working with buried utilities.
- Valid class 3 or 1A Driver’s license with a clean driving abstract.
- Safety certifications preferred: First Aid/CPR, Ground Disturbance, H2S Alive, and CSTS is considered an asset.
- Experience working outside in all types of weather conditions
- Mechanical inclination is an asset.
- Ability to listen and take direction with positive, can-do attitude
- Clean criminal record check
- Must possess basic English - verbal/written
- Able to work as part of a team, and individually when required
- Attention to detail

Competitive wages: Adanac Telecom is an equal opportunity employer, which offers a very competitive compensation package. Living allowance paid and accommodation provided for out of town work. Salary is dependent on qualifications and skill level.

We typically work 2 week on, 1 week off rotation.

Pay: $27.00-$32.00 per hour
