**Scope of Work**:
The consulting firm or individual selected will be responsible for:
**1. Pre-session Preparation**:
- Conducting initial meetings with the board executive and executive director to understand the organization's current state, challenges, and opportunities.
- Reviewing relevant documents, including parent surveys, board materials, sector relevant information, such as salary surveys and information on the Canada-wide Early Learning and Childcare (CWELCC), among other documents.
**2. Designing the Strategic Planning Session - ideally 2 half day sessions in May 2024**:
- Developing an agenda and timeline for the strategic planning session.
- Creating interactive and engaging activities to encourage participation and collaboration among board members.
- Identifying and incorporating appropriate strategic planning frameworks or tools.
**3. Facilitating the Session**:
- Leading the strategic planning session (s), ensuring all voices are heard and ideas are considered.
- Guiding discussions to help the board define strategic priorities, goals, and action plans.
- Encouraging consensus-building and decision-making.
**4. Post-session Deliverables**:
- Compiling session notes and outcomes into a comprehensive report.
- Providing recommendations for next steps and ongoing support as needed.
**Proposal Requirements (maximum 5 pages)**:
Interested consultants are requested to submit proposals that include the following information:
**1. Overview of Experience**:
- Description of relevant experience facilitating strategic planning sessions for nonprofit organizations or volunteer boards.
- Examples of successful engagements and client testimonials, if available.
**2. Methodology**:
- Approach to facilitating the strategic planning session, including any specific methodologies, frameworks, or tools you plan to use.
**3. Timeline**:
- Proposed timeline for completing the pre-session preparation, strategic planning session, and post-session deliverables.
**5. Budget**:
- Detailed breakdown of costs, including fees for consulting services, travel expenses (if applicable), and any additional expenses.
**6. References**:
- Contact information for at least three references from past clients who can speak to the quality of your work.
