**About the position**:
Reporting to the Executive Director of the Learning Forum, and under the day to day supervision of the P’tite école Principal, the Learning Specialist will have the knowledge and skills in implementing differentiated instruction in order to meet the learning needs of students.

**Duties**:

- Provide support to classroom teachers in their classrooms to better help students with identified learning needs.
- Provide individual learning development plans for identified students.
- Provide support on learning strategies for all students within the classroom setting.
- Provide support for social-emotional learning for the appropriate grade levels.
- Liaise regularly and effectively with all constituent groups regarding these students: classroom teachers, consulting psychologist or psycho-ed, principal and/or delegate, students and their parents;
- Provide workshops to students on a variety of topics related to academic success, such as study skills and classroom learning strategies when needed.
- Work closely with, and provide support to staff in the delivery of a variety of teaching and learning strategies that promote best practices for all students and that further the understanding of the individual learning needs of each student.
- Staying up-to-date with new research and practices on effective teaching and learning strategies across the curriculum.

**Who we are looking for**:

- Certified teacher (OCT or equivalent) with a degree in education (B.Ed. or M.Ed.)
- Additional qualification in Special Education (part 1, 2 and Specialist designation) is required
- Training in Literacy and/or Numeracy instruction and remediation
- Experience in teaching strategies to support teachers regarding social-emotional needs as well as academic support
- Fluency in French (native); ability to teach in French
- Relevant classroom experience teaching young students with identified learning needs
- Extensive knowledge and understanding of the International Baccalaureate (IB) Primary Year (PYP) Program and its mission
- Conversational English required
