**Position Description**:
Reporting to the Senior Leader, Finance and Supply Chain; the Purchasing Leader will be responsible for the procurement of materials, vendor communication and monitoring of inventory levels to maintain par stock and ensure adequate materials for production demand.

**Position Responsibilities**:

- Ensure adequate stock levels to ensure production targets can be achieved.
- Creation, implementation and compliance of internal Procurement Policies.
- Ensure ISO compliance as they relate to procurement standards (i.e. Vendor maintenance, addition and deletion of vendors).
- Establish purchasing lead times to align with organizational objectives end ensure system alignment to achieve ordering guidelines.
- Maintenance of all procurement system updates including but not limited to lead times, vendors and price changes.
- Create and analyse reports by location to determine if suppliers are on time in fill and communicate all delays to impacted teams to ensure that Leaders are able to effectively respond to the needs of the customers.
- Communicate with engineering for part substitutions
- extract job requirements from the system based on vendor delays.
- Review lead times, safety stock balances, and forecast demand to evaluate increases needed to safety stock and request approvals as required.
- Understand full procurement activities and ERP/MRP System requirements related to procurement to act as back up when needed.

- Has the ability to meet deadlines.
- Has strong time management skills with procurement experience using an ERP.

**Qualifications**:

- Bachelor’s degree in business or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
- 5+ years of experience in a procurement role.
- Comprehensive knowledge of inventory and supply chain management.
- Experience using Material Requirements Planning (MRP) systems.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office and demonstrated ability in Excel and manipulating spreadsheets.
- General Understanding of Lean principles and how it applies to the manufacturing environment.
- Experience working in accounting in a Manufacturing environment is an asset.
- Leadership experience is an asset.
