**Lot Checker**
**Vancouver, BC**
**Pay: $20.00 hourly**
**Summary**:
Lot checker responsibilities include but are not limited to driving the company vehicle around on the terminal and providing accurate yard inventory by checking various containers, trailers, and chassis through a computer located in the company vehicle.
It is important for lot checkers to accurately enter the correct lot locations for inventory accuracy. They are also required to update the physical inventory of all trailers, containers, and bare chassis location. This would include driving through each parking lot verifying that the correct equipment is in the marked location. Will be required to pre-trip equipment on a daily basis as needed.
**Responsibilities**:
- Inspects all intermodal units arriving and departing the railroad intermodal facility on the train for accuracy on unit numbers and initials.
- Maintains a quality environment where performance inspections are handled accurately, safely and accident & injury-free.
- Ensures compliance is met under Parsec and OSHA Regulations. This would include reporting any incidents to the supervisory immediately.
- Be familiar of all intermodal units, while maintaining a safe distance from moving vehicles.
- Responsible for completing all required paperwork for the customer accurately.
- Responsible for special tasks requested by management and/or supervisor.
- All other duties as assigned.
**Requirements**:
- Able to work well independently and under time restraints for information vital to the operations team.
- This position requires sitting for extended periods of time and driving company vehicle while working on a computer in the vehicle
- Regular and consistent attendance required.
- Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills to coordinate with a variety of individuals.
- Ability to listen, learn, take direction, make changes, and work alone or in a group environment.
**Qualifications**:
- 18 years of age or older
- Valid Driver’s License
- Must comply with established safety rules, policies, and procedures, including wearing required safety equipment
- Documented successful completion of lawful post-offer, pre-employment checks including criminal background check and drug screening.
