Evening Warehouse Supervisor
Assist customers in selecting & loading materials needed while maintaining a clean and safe lumber yard. Ensure that products are properly stocked and ready to be purchased. Manage the operations of a busy lumber yard environment.
**Responsibilities**:
- Works in a safe manner in accordance with provincial and federal safety legislation. Report any potential hazards and unsafe behavior to management to have the situation corrected.
- Supervise the operations of the warehouse/lumber yard enabling high productivity when Yard Leader is not present. Assign tasks, monitor progress, give clear and concise directions.
- Maintain a high level of engagement amongst Warehouse/Yard associates and help coach them where required.
- Interact with all customers, fellow associates, and others with a high level of professionalism.
- Identify potential areas for improvement such as yard or warehouse layout, modified evening operations to increase efficiency and communicate those areas effectively with both the Yard Leader and the Store Manager.
- Willingness to be able to adjust to the ever-changing needs of our contractors/customers.
- Assist in the creation and monitoring of direct reports schedules.
- Assist in employee reviews.
- Ongoing employee communication, conflict resolution and change management.
- Maintain good product knowledge.
- Attend leadership meetings as required.
- Any other duties described by management.
**Requirements**:
- Can manage changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Motivates others through their positive attitude to always be improving.
- Demonstrates the drive and commitment needed to reach goals.
- Experience in retail sales and supervision is preferred.
- A knowledge of department products is an asset.
- Strong understanding of business goals and standards for customer service.
- Able to work every second weekend.
