**Location**

33 Commerce Valley Dr. East, Markham, Ontario
- This is an on-site role as the hiring team will require the student to work in the Markham office throughout the entire duration of the co-op work term. COVID-19 protocols are being strictly followed._

**Program Term**
- This role is a 12-month position
- May 1, 2023 - April 26, 2024

**The Role**

The role of Stdcell Build and QA Co-op is geared towards developing required stdcell library EDA views, importing 3rd Party EDA views and qualifying them to work with the tools defined by AMD’s Synthesis and Place and Route flows. In addition, the position includes exposure to standard cell design and electrical verification.

**Responsibilities**:
**What you’ll be doing**
- Standard cell library characterization and build.
- Standard cell library quality assurance.
- Library maintenance, including all kinds of representative format for all design flows and tools

**What you’ll learn**
- The design process, the manufacturing process, and chip integration.
- To build and qualify standard cell designs to be used in automated synthesis and place & route flows.
- To use several industry standard tools and languages, such as shell/Perforce/PERL/Verilog programming, Hspice and custom schematic/layout flows.
- How to collaborate with both local and global teams.
- You will develop exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
- You will develop negotiation and team working skills.

Qualifications:
**Requirements**:

- Minimum 3 years in a Bachelor degree program in Computer Science/Electrical/Electronics Engineering
- Circuit design experience from relevant microelectronics courses.
- Knowledge of Verilog HDL, Synopsys liberty library, spice simulation, and ASIC design flow
- Knowledge of script programming, such as, TCL, Perl or C-shell languages
- Versed in Cadence design flow, including composers
- Proficient in UNIX (Linux) platforms
