**New Flyer** is North America's heavy-duty transit bus leader and offers the most advanced product line under the Xcelsior® and Xcelsior CHARGE® brands. It also offers infrastructure development through NFI Infrastructure Solutions, a service dedicated to providing safe, sustainable, and reliable charging and mobility solutions.

Accountable for the supervision, coordination and performance of the assigned Technical Section as formed within the existing Engineering Groups. Personally, and through a group of designers ensures the completion and accuracy of assigned tasks from the initial design stage to implementation.
**WHAT YOU WILL DO**:
- Manages the overall project of the design integration of the Zero Emission Propulsion system into the ARBOC bus.
- Supervises employees of the section to ensure completion of all assigned tasks to New Flyer standards.
- Balances task assignments between section members and members of other internal groups providing support when necessary.
- Completes Engineering design tasks to support production.
- Coordinates own tasks to ensure deadlines are met. Includes maintaining a task status and recording time spent on each task.
- Creates engineering designs to meet customer specifications and production requirements for manufacturability. This includes both mechanical and Electrical designs and installs.
- Coordinates trial installations of designs to ensure customer expectations are met and ensure product reliability and verify component fit. This can require travel to different facilities to support test installs and system testing.
- Completes engineering drawings and release documentation in accordance with the Engineering procedures, in preparation to hand off to ARBOC engineering for production use.
- Provides engineering support to ARBOC Engineering, Production, Quality Assurance, Customer Service Support, Purchasing and other departments in all facilities as required.
- Interacts with vendors and customers on design related issues.
- Checks, and/or approves engineering documents as authorized.
- Other duties as assigned
**WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL**:
- Registered Professional Engineer with a minimum of 4 years experience.
- Design related experience of a minimum of 4 years.
- Design based knowledge related to essential functions as stated above.
- Strong Unigraphics skills (other CAD system experience is preferred as AROBC uses a different system).
- Strong teamwork and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently.
- Ability to motivate employees and train new employees.
- Ability to use MS Office, Word and Excel
- Walking, sitting and standing ability to walk upstairs.
