You will plan and organize your work responsibilities to receive specimens, perform pre-analytical specimen processing, and distribute specimens for laboratory testing and investigation. Specific accountabilities include: operation of technical equipment, performing quality control procedures, performing equipment maintenance, preparing specimens for storage and transport, assisting with the training of staff and students as required, and providing customer service support. **Required Qualifications**:
Completion of an accredited Medical Laboratory Assistant program or equivalent.

**Additional Required Qualifications**:
Graduate from a recognized Medical Laboratory Assistant program or equivalent, which includes specimen handling. One-year Beaker CP Lab Processor experience. One-year public health lab experience. A combination of related education and experience may be considered. Basic computer knowledge including Microsoft Office. Knowledge of WHMIS and SDS. Manual dexterity for manipulation of specimens. Must be able to give and follow verbal and written direction in English.
