Overview

We’re looking for people with disability management experience or working in occupational health.

**How you’ll make a difference**:You’ll provide compassionate, supportive service to people injured at work.

**Where you’ll work**

At WorkSafeBC, we offer a **hybrid work model** that combines the convenience of working remotely with the dynamism of working in one of our offices, based on the operational needs of the position.

In this role, you’ll work primarily from your B.C. home and occasionally in your office location. You’ll also be required to make site visits and interact directly with injured workers.

What you'll do
- Develop, implement, and monitor individualized return-to-work plans that bridge the gap between the workers’ abilities and the job demands
- Collaborate with health care providers and others to assist in the development of recovery and return to work plans
- Weigh evidence and interpret policy to determine workers’ eligibility for benefits
- Authorize appropriate diagnostic referrals and consultations
- Develop supportive, collaborative, and respectful relationships with workers, employers, and health care providers
- Educate workers, worker representative groups, employers, industry groups, and health care providers about strategies for returning to work and managing disabilities
- Visit worksites to assess job demands as needed

**We’re looking for people who can**:

- Demonstrate knowledge of occupational health and disability management principles, including return-to-work planning
- Demonstrate care and compassion while building relationships and developing effective recovery and return-to-work plans
- Record, explain, and present detailed and complex information orally and in writing
- Be comfortable in an office setting where most of the work is done

**Your background and experience**:

- A **university degree** in a related discipline such as disability management, health sciences, kinesiology, nursing, occupational therapy, or physiotherapy
- **A minimum of six months of work experience** that includes disability management activities and return-to-work planning
- A valid B.C. driver’s license

We’ll consider equivalent combinations of education and experience.
