Reporting to the Purchasing Manager, the North American Purchasing Coordinator handles and oversees procurement, sourcing and contracting of materials, supplies, equipment and services. Responsible for the North American Purchasing team; implements department procedures, and helps realize department goals. Handles the day-to-day activities of the department and ensures competent quality execution of all purchasing duties and administrative works.

**Core Job Responsibilities**
- Manages the North American Supply Chain on a daily basis
- Lead the team and participate daily in KPI’s, active sourcing, forecasting, selecting and negotiating the best purchase package in terms of quality, price, dependability, deliveries and service with suppliers
- Analyze inventory data, plan seasonal purchases and identify trends for new product/service opportunities. Share these findings and make recommendations to the Purchasing Manager, Senior Management, & Product Development Team
- Provide proactive advice to all departments and branches in regards to inventory purchases, cycles, seasonal items, overstock, and forecasting.
- Spreadsheet & Database maintenance to ensure an accurate inventory control and costing system
- Responsible for the preparation, process, and variances of purchase orders in accordance to company policies, quality standards, and procedures.
- Work directly with the Global Sourcing team to ensure consistent stock is forecasted, maintained, and improved
- Work with Branches to ensure proper stocking levels and fill rates
- Coordinate with Freight & Logistic companies to ensure valid transport times and rates
- Coordinate with Customs Brokers to ensure accurate Tariff Classes and database accuracy
- Continually looking for new products to expand our reach and ability to service customers & branches
- Ideas to improve the Supply Chain, improve the flow of goods and information, uphold the quality of our items, and ensure an accurate database
- Other Purchasing and Management duties as required

**Required Competencies**
- A combination of 6+ years industrial purchasing experience and post-secondary degree or certificate in either Business Administration, Logistics. Operations Management or Accounting is required
- 3+ years of direct people management, including, hiring, training, performance reviews and performance/attendance management is required
- High degree of knowledge of supply-chain management functions; SCMP designation required
- Must be able to analyze data across thousands of part numbers, learn and understand what we do as a company/product, and possess strong mathematical abilities
- Must be able to build and maintain strong working relationships across the company and with our vendor base.
- A very high degree of accuracy and problem-solving abilities during supply chain shifts, product changes, outages, etc.
- The ability to consistently make strong business-based decisions, and the passion to teach others how to do the same
- Strong ability to be persistent with vendors on follow up, and compelling negotiation skills
- The ability to maintain confidentiality and use discretion in regards to proprietary information
- Strong ability to be adaptable and flexible in high paced, customer centric working environment while remaining organized
- The ability and aptitude to manage, prioritize, and follow up on several projects at a time
- Strong communication skills verbal and written
- Passion for learning, skill enhancement and continued education

**Salary**: $70,000.00-$75,000.00 per year
