Job Description: Dishwasher

There's a new restaurant coming to Truro We are currently under renovations and we are looking to be up and running the beginning of September.

**Responsibilities**:
1. Load, operate, and unload dishwashing equipment, ensuring that all items are thoroughly cleaned and sanitized.

2. Wash and sanitize dishes, glassware, flatware, and kitchen utensils by machine or hand as necessary.

3. Sort and stack clean dishes and utensils properly, ensuring efficient storage and easy access for the kitchen staff.

4. Empty and clean trash receptacles regularly to maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards.

5. Maintain a clean and organized dishwashing area, including the sinks, work surfaces, and storage areas.

6. Assist in maintaining overall cleanliness in the kitchen and bathrooms, including sweeping and mopping floors, wiping down countertops, and cleaning kitchen equipment.

7. Support the kitchen staff by assisting in basic food preparation tasks, such as peeling, chopping, and portioning ingredients.

8. Follow all safety and sanitation guidelines to ensure a safe and healthy work environment.

9. Communicate any equipment malfunctions or maintenance needs to the appropriate personnel.

10. Collaborate with the kitchen team to ensure efficient workflow and effective communication.

11. Perform opening and closing duties as instructed.

**Requirements**:
1. Previous experience as a Dishwasher or similar role in a food service establishment is preferred.

2. Knowledge of proper dishwashing and sanitation procedures.

3. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.

4. Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift heavy items when necessary.

5. Willingness to work in a hot and humid environment, as well as handle cleaning chemicals safely.

6. Strong communication skills and the ability to work well within a team.

7. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required in the food service industry.

8. Reliability and punctuality, with a strong work ethic and a sense of responsibility.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time

**Salary**: $14.50-$15.50 per hour
