**KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE**:

- Perform a key role in the safety and efficiency of the facility and scientific operations including biohazardous/chemical/garbage waste collection, building repairs and preventative maintenance, cleanliness of shipping dock, etc.
- Perform daily temperature, humidity, and CO2 pressure checks,; weekly download of temperature data and cell counter data
- Prepare deviation reports for temperature excursions and equipment faults
- Point of contact for all external service providers, including equipment maintenance, utilities, and waste management.
- Support the Laboratory Operations Coordinator in the receipt of materials and organized storage at appropriate temperatures and notify end users.
- Maintain fridge/freezer inventory
- Review and update chemical inventory; SDS
- Conduct monthly pest control and safety checks
- Perform qualification of equipment (IQ, OQ, PQ)
- Carry out verification of instruments including plate readers, balances, pH meter, centrifuges and mapping of fridges, freezers, and incubators; ensure all equipment is maintained and within calibration.
- Interact with and collaborate with all staff and employees to successfully perform responsibilities and maintain an organized, safe, and efficient work environment.
- Work under the general supervision of their supervisor and follow clearly established procedures or practices.
- Assist with and pPerform general lab/equipment cleaning and preventive maintenance
- Participate in the inventory check for general lab supplies
- Perform additional duties to support the safe and efficient operation of the laboratory and workplace

**WORKING CONDITIONS**
- Incumbent will work in a regulatory compliant biosafety level 2 laboratory and general office space.
- Potential hazards may include noise, temperature extremes, biohazards, and hazardous chemical products. Standard safety procedures are in place and personal protective devices must always be worn when working in the laboratory.

**EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/CREDENTIALS/SKILLS**:

- College Diploma or B.Sc. in a scientific-related field and 1-2 years of previous Laboratory work/management experience preferred; OR equivalent combination of education and experience
- Experience with Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, Project, PowerPoint)
