**Job Duties & Responsibilities**

**Responsibilities**:

- Process accounts payable, including matching purchase orders against invoices and managing the weekly cheque run process
- Work with department directors to ensure accurate coding and compliance with budget
- Reconcile general ledger accounts
- Reconcile vendor accounts and respond to vendor requests
- Conduct regular bank reconciliations and investigate discrepancies
- Management and oversight of Accounts Receivable, including Water Billings and Tax Billings
- Provide support to the Director of Finance to ensure smooth day-to-day office operations
- Support the year-end financial statement audit
- When required, manage counter service, process payments, and handle general inquiries
- Balancing of cash receipts
- Manage monthly subcontractor WCB remittances
- Assist Director of Finance with tax sale process
- Act as backup for payroll
- Assist Director of Finance with special projects

**What we’re looking for**:
**Qualifications**:

- Degree or diploma in Accounting or equivalent experience
- Experience with Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable, preferably in a municipal environment
- Excellent communication skills with staff and the public
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Time management skills and ability to meet deadlines
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel

**Preferred Qualifications**:

- Proficient in Microsoft Dynamics GP
