Here’s the Scoop - Summary

We are looking for a Sanitation Technician (3rd Shift) to join our team. The Sanitation Technician (3rd Shift) works out of our production facility located in Acheson, Alberta, and reports to the Sanitation Supervisor. In this position, you will leverage your experience to, contributes to a team environment by maintaining the highest sanitary conditions of the production facility. This role will perform all cleaning and sanitation tasks as required to ensure exceptional cleanliness. It goes without saying, this is an integral role. **What a typical day looks like**:

- Job duties are varied dependent on the specialized area of the Kitchen; Special assignments may be created on a case-by case basis to address immediate circumstances
- Comply with all CPF policies and procedures, and all Health and Safety Rules and Regulations
- Accurately follow sanitation standard operating procedures (SOPs)
- Dispense cleaning and sanitizing chemicals; and perform chemical titrations
- Perform both wet and dry-cleaning sanitation processes
- Wet cleaning: Wash, foam, scrub and rinse food and non-food transition equipment
- Perform Cleaning in Place (CIP) & High Integrity Process (HIP) cleans during Extrusion Cleans
- Thoroughly clean floors in both Kitchens - using brooms, mops, auto-scrubbers, wet vacuums, and other equipment as required
- Move and lift objects up to 50 lbs
- Return all sanitation documents and tools at end of shift
- Perform overhead cleaning; using dusters and extended brooms, working on ladders
- Empty and clean trash cans and other waste containers
- Clean and sanitize all cleaning tools, and equipment
- Maintain and upkeep sanitation equipment
- Keep accurate records of cleaning performed - sanitation checklists
- Understands when to alert Supervisor and/or Team Leads regarding any sanitation concerns observed throughout shift
- Other duties as assigned

**What are we looking for?**
- Minimum 1 year sanitation experience, preferably within the food production industry
- High School or post-secondary school.
- Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) principles is preferred
- Ability and motivation to learn to work with various tools and equipment
- Strong attention to detail in all areas of work
- Ability to accurately complete required paperwork in a timely manner
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to work and thrive in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to pass a Drug & Alcohol and Fit to Work test
- Ability to clear a Criminal Record Check and provide references

**Working Conditions**
- Work environment is in a pet food distribution centre, with exposure to dust, noise, and fluctuating temperatures
- 3rd Shift (9:00pm-5:30am)
- Overtime and Saturdays as required
- Must be able to physically inspect company equipment, property, and assets
- Regularly required to work at heights; fall arrest training to be provided by the Company
