**Position Summary**:
Provides assessment and treatment for children and their families utilizing family, individual, and group treatment approach working with a wide range of treatment modalities within the multidisciplinary context.

**Education/Training/Experience**:
**1**. Minimum of a Master’s degree and registration/certification in good standing with a professional College of practice

2. Experience within at least one particular model/area of specialization in child or family therapy

3. Previous clinical experience working with children and families

4. Training in a variety of treatment modalities including a supervised practicum in one of the areas of child development or family development and functioning

5. On the approved practitioner’s list for NIHB, Victim Services, and Dept of Community Services (Can be discussed further upon being hired)

6. Liability insurance

**Abilities**:
1. Integrate third-party reports and case histories from outside agencies into assessments and treatment if required.

2. Verbal communication skills necessary to convey information, and participate in or lead discussions relevant to the client’s case file.

3. Ability to complete comprehensive assessments which include clinical formulations and treatment recommendations.

4. Authors accurate and concise reports, forms, and treatment goals.

5. Demonstrates understanding and clinical skills in the area of attachment-based interventions.

7. Abilities to work in partnership with families, co-workers, and other individuals connected to the client.

8. Clinical judgment in assessing situations of client risk is required, for example, risk of suicide, and risk of child abuse.

9. Good understanding of trauma attachment and its impact on children and families.
