The Champlain Maternal Newborn Regional Program (CMNRP) is a regional network, hosted by CHEO, whose goal is to strengthen relationships among maternal-newborn healthcare providers and other related organizations, with the overarching goal of improving health outcomes and experiences for pregnant people and newborns within the Ontario Health East Region. The CMNRP team collaborates with health care providers, leaders, and organizations on many initiatives at the regional, provincial, and national levels toward the provision of quality perinatal and newborn care.

The Perinatal Consultant is a member of a dynamic professional team whose mission is to support continuous quality improvement and excellence in perinatal and newborn care in Ontario Health East. The Perinatal Consultant - Neonatal is an experienced advanced practice nurse and Masters prepared clinician focused on leading the development and implementation of clinical standards and best practice guidelines in collaboration with regional, provincial, national, and international stakeholders to drive system level improvement to care. Key responsibilities include participating in research, analyzing and interpreting research and data, conducting in-depth literature reviews, formulating recommendations based on evidence, program evaluation and providing education and training.

The location of work is a hybrid between the CMNRP office and home. The ratio of time at each location is based on operational need.

**MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Develop and implement clinical standards and best practice guidelines in collaboration with regional, provincial, national, and international stakeholders
- Participate in, analyze, and interpret research and data, conduct in-depth literature reviews, and formulate recommendations based on evidence.
- Assume a leadership and mentorship role in influencing clinical practice and the provision of quality care by responding to requests for information and by conducting program reviews, case reviews, site visits, education, and training.
- Promote evidence-based care and lead the adoption of best practice standards and facilitate access to clinical resources, best practice guidelines, and standards of practice.
- Develop collaborative relationships with all health care professionals across relevant disciplines and sectors and participate in related networks and programs.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to develop, implement, and evaluate a regional perinatal professional development program based on standards of practice, required skills and competencies.
- Collaborate with stakeholder to develop and provide specialized in-services or education sessions based on practice updates and identified needs.
- Lead communities of practice, committees, and working groups.
- Plan, develop, implement, and evaluate core activities, projects, or programs aligned with the regional network strategic plan.
- Participate in regional, provincial, and national initiatives that complement program activities.
- Participate in the development and implementation of funding proposals, research projects, and quality improvement projects.
- Contribute to the development of the regional network strategic plan.
- Perform work in accordance with the provisions of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations and all CHEO corporate/departmental policies and procedures related to Occupational Health and Safety.
- Perform other related duties as required.

**QUALIFICATIONS**
- Criminal Record Check (CRC) (Essential)
- Bilingualism (English and French) (preferred)
- Access to a car and holder of an Ontario Driver’s Licence is required due to frequent travel (Essential)
- Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario (Essential)
- Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (Essential)
- Master’s Degree in Nursing or related field completed or in progress (Essential)
- Current Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) Provider (Canadian Paediatric Society) (Essential)
- Completion of or willingness to complete Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) Instructor or Instructor Trainer status (Canadian Paediatric Society) (Essential)
- Completion of pre-transport infant stabilization course (ACORN or STABLE) (preferred)
- ACORN Instructor (preferred)
- Completion or willingness to complete International Board-Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) certification (preferred)
- Minimum of three years of recent and relevant experience in the care of critically ill ventilated Level 3 NICU infants (Essential)
- Three years of neonatal transport experience (preferred)
- Current clinical competence and a minimum of 5 years of experience in neonatal nursing (Essential)
- Minimum of three years in a nursing leadership role with experience in mentorship and preceptorship (Essential)
- Experience in creating, planning, implementing, and evaluating education modules and workshops in neonatal care (Essential)
