Videographer & Editor

In this position, the successful applicant will be responsible for coordinating and stimulating the production of all of Lava’s video (digital) assets. This will primarily include filming and editing videos that introduce or describe Lava’s products and procedures.

This position will be difficult, with a demanding schedule and workload. Lava seeks a person who is excited by and sees opportunity in this challenge and is prepared to hit the ground running.

The test evaluates people based on core psychological principles (Big Five, Motivation and GMA) which help us evaluate, select and hire more fairly and accurately.

**Requirements**:

- Must be fluent in Ukrainian and have at least a B1 level or equivalent of English language proficiency
- Strong understanding of design principles especially as pertains to video flow and format
- Able to conceptualize (a mind’s eye) a wide variety of visuals based on specific requirements
- Able to present multiple design concepts and approaches for the same video
- Knowledge of Adobe programs and video editing software

**Job Description/Responsibilities**:

- Generate and collect ideas and topics for videos
- Generating and collecting ideas will include talking / interviewing Lava personnel to create questions/points/tips ie bullet points that need to be expanded on or that will guide the individual writing the actual video script
- Conducting video idea sessions and meetings and summarizing such in bullet points
- Create, receive approval for and keep to a video release schedule
- Create storyboards for each video, prior to filming and editing
- Create video scripts - will include consulting and working with the engineering team to ensure content accuracy (scripts in Ukrainian and English)
- Edit the video scripts, ensuring that the topic/goal of the video is achieved
- Collect all required accessories for the corresponding video and create a static composition
- Set up studio and backdrop as needed/as you see fit with lighting, power, tripod, etc.
- Shoot the video - doing multiple takes as needed
- Record voice overs for video content (will include your own voice for Ukrainian language videos)
- Edit the raw video files in Adobe After Effects and other graphical and video related software programs
- Create any still images or diagrams necessary for the video
- Add any required text, intro/ending clips, logos, icons etc
- Assemble the actual video and “publish” it to internal (website) and external (YouTube) sources
- Work with tech support to moderate and answer any comments on video posts

**Bonus Skills to Have**:

- Skills in Photoshop and Corel Draw
- Background or work experience in video script writing
- Background or work experience in marketing
- Knowledge of French

**Additional Information**

The position requires you to be in our Rexdale main office daily, remote work is NOT an option.

**Job Type**: Fixed term contract
Contract length: 2 months

Pay: $26.44-$31.25 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
